sr bumper on mk2

erm i think its mk1 well basically it doesnt fit round the lights snug and ive use the bracket of my old mk2 and it wont fit the wing either and i payed 25 for it

sell the sr bumper on here & buy a mk2 bumper (gsi type etc.)

will the brackets that came with the bumper not fit it ??it wont be snug arount the lights for the reason its a mk1 bumper ..what grill u using ??

I would just sell that and buy a GSI one, IMO Mk1 bumpers on Mk2 front end's just dont look right :thumb:

yeah but i like the sr bumper im using my original grille and it didnt come with the braket when i bought it just the bumper itself

yeah it looked like that when it was on but the bit where it fits to the wing didnt fit almost as if it was pused out forward to far

Mk1 Front end conversion would look miles better, only need wings, headlights and grille, will look 100x better then :)

tbh i dont know why it wont fit then .. i think it would look alot cleaner with a gsi bumper .if you want ill take the sr bumper off your hands ..

stroutsy did you get the mounting brackets (L shape) that bolt through the front and to the bumper iron from the Mk1, because they differ between MK1 and 2s IIRC.

the mk1 bumpers dont fit right because of the small prongs under the grill that need to locate into theback of a mk2 bumper, the push the bumper down too much

the bumper brackets off a mk2 fitted to the mk1 bumper

but it still will look worse than a mk2 bumper, cos the profile of the bumper is different

or you need mk1 wings, mk1 headlights and indicators and a mk1 grill

STROUTSY......PLEASE LISTEN TO US!!!!!!!!!!! It will fit with the use of the mk2 metalwork, but it will not line up on any other parts, this is because the mk2 is a different shape to a mk1. so it will look crap, and you would be better off buying a gsi bumper & keeping it a mk2, or fitting a complete mk1 front end and fitting the mk1 bumper.

Thats probably because there isnt a simple answer, well there is, leave it mk2 and stop trying to mix and match bits that wont line up properly!
