alright,
i am an apprentice mechanic ..
i got offered 50 quid to do a cambelt on a pug 206 diesel,
alot of people that read this probably wont have the time but,
could anybody give me any tips or even a step by step on the quickest and easiest way to do it
much appreciated

TBH and dont mean to be nasty but if your asking for advice on here to do a customers cambelt its a job you really should not be doing.
Replacing lights, rocker gasket ok but not something as critical as a cambelt.
and for £50 is a bit of a reaming for you lol

best bet mate, go buy a haynes manual for the car and an english dictionary. you might only get 20quid profit (assuming they have bought the materials) but at least you will learn a couple of things, like:
a:how to do a cam belt
b:why not to do a foreigner cambelt for 50quid
just dont **** it up, because if the teeth arent alligned then it go go horrific i think!

On direct injection diesels, yes.

its not a customers vehicle,
but it was worth checking to see what people thought on here first cheers
well, it will probably need a belt & tensioner kit. knowing most modern diesels are tighter than anything for room & the engine mount will most likely need removing, I would be asking for £50 on top of the bits, and you get the bits to make some more profit. most garages charge £250+ for this job.
