its a Cat Challenger, possibly the horniest of all tracked farm vehicles (appart from a tracked lexion 480 combine)

may only have about 300bhp but enough torque to stop the world and spin it in the other direction lol

and thats probably at tick over ;)

get a fastie CP ;)

CATERPILLAR CHALLENGER 75D
The Challenger 75D agricultural tractor replaces the 75C and offers a new engine that improves power growth. The Caterpillar 3176 ATTAC 10.3-liter diesel engine is a four-stroke, in-line six-cylinder, turbocharged and air-to-air aftercooled powerplant that produces 330 horsepower, 5 horsepower more than the 75C. The one-piece cast iron block eliminates an aluminum spacer deck, and, therefore, improves sealability. Larger rod bearings improve durability, and a redesigned turbocharger housing quiets operation. The engine still employs Cat?s electronically controlled, mechanically actuated unit injector fuel system that produces high injection pressure for more complete fuel combustion and proper injection timing at all speeds.

In addition, the 75D differential steering system, employs new specially heat treated components to enhance durability. Other enhancements include improved air conditioning, tinted heat reflective windows, opening rear window, quieter cab environment, toolbox mounted on the frame rail, swinging drawbar snubbers and wear strip, additional interior lighting, refined styling including adjustable work lighting, and a higher capacity alternator.

The Challenger 75D Mobil-trac system combines the m mobility and speed of rubber tires with the efficiency and high performance of tracks. The patented friction drive system converts a high percentage of engine power to drawbar power. The Challenger 75D delivers 15% more drawbar power in first-pass tillage and up to 35% more drawbar power in plowed ground than comparable wheeled tractors.

Stuart

well DUH course it runs on diesil, how else would you get power and torque figures like that?? and also it would cost more of a small fortune to run it on petrol lol

wisewood
19-03-03, 12:51 PM
you could run it on solid fuel

steam power from a coal fire?????
steam trains had some torque
