I wouldn't have thought with the money spent on this car over the years and the amount of paint-job's that they would have missed a bit so visible like that...?

Thats a stainless steel plate that holds the oil cooler in place, polished with my own fair hands, as seen here:-

Started out life as a white GSi. The slam panel support isn't the one that came with this car out of the factory. The bit most people notice through the grille is the custom alloy oil cooler bracket.

I do miss that car, my neighbours used to love it at 7am in the morning. Although that was with the throttle bodies and high compression SBD/QED450 spec engine.

Ben.

Hi Rick,

Not too bad thanks, I can't believe the car is up for sale again! I thought I'd pop back here for a quick look around and hey presto - K95 on the forum. It's strange how the Nova cravings never really go away... I'm sure you know what I mean.

Anyhow, I hope you and the family are well.

Cheers,
Ben.

I think i'd be sorely tempted if it weren't for the fact its a one off colour, which means full respray to repair any even slight rust.

Rio Verde is a standard Vx colour - has this one been mixed differently?

haha i thought a thread might get up on here!

i still have the euro rear lights to change back if a new owner wishes!
i dont 100% have to sell it but it makes looking for a house easier as it does not have to have a garage and 2 parking spaces!

i believe the price is fair and its what it owes me

veiwings are welcome!!

It's a custom colour based on rio verde with extra white pearl, and tbh if I had my garage built I'd prob buy it back for £3grand and have it painted later on.

Ad's gone again.

What condition is it in now?

RJM25R
09-11-09, 08:13 PM
Keith, from what I gather it needs a little paint. The Ad said it has rust on front arches and rear arches, bubbly, not broken the paint yet.

Thats also got rust bubbles on the arches according to the add and has a paint job that would be hard to match. So would need a full paint to look semi decent, all that taken into account its worth about £1.5k imho if not less.

Some pretty harsh comments just slagging the guys Nova off right in front of him on here. Not really acceptable seeing as he's a paid up club member and is in the middle of trying to sell the thing. Who cares how much you think it's worth or what your thoughts on the car are? He can ask whatever he wants for it! If you're not interested in the car or don't have anything constructive to say, why bother posting

It all seems a bit :gay:

Good luck with the sale btw.

interesting debate on some of the aspects of K95 and also Mark's nova on the prices and the merits of breaking them.

The prices of all the novas which get listed up for sale vary, with some being fairly priced and some perhaps not so fairly for what they are - in my opinion. However, cars like K95 and Mark's (and a few others) have a huge history to them and are cars which have inspired many of us for a number of years. The history, coupled with the spec, the money spent on upgrading them etc etc all contribute to the price they get advertised at, which is perfectly reasonable. It would certainly cost far more to replicate the spec starting with another Nova as the base.

Any car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and personally, I think both cars are worth what they are advertised at. Again, in my opinion, its a shame to see any car broken for parts after the time, effort and money which has been spent building it into what it is. However, in certain instances, its down to pure economics for the seller.

how is a car not special enough to break?
if it was all that "special" would it not be worth fixing?

SRimon

I think as it is at 3k is a good price.

If it was spotless, its worth 4k IMO.

I imagine what rick is saying that neither car has enough high value parts to make it worthwhile breaking them over the sale value,

eg standard guise car with an xe (ok marks has tb's etc) but if you added up every nut and bolt it would struggle to sale for more than the cars selling price when you take into factor the time and effort factor as well.

Yes you might own a piece of nova past history but to break it is not viable. IMHO Mar would see £3.5k back from his car breaking it. I watched colins decent spec xe on TB's sell for £1500 which imho was funking cheap as its not a standard XE on TB's....

I agree both cars are worth more complete because of the history to them.

Rewind to 1996 & it was acceptable.... lol

Personally I love K95VHD, esp back in the day when the Novacane-MAX Power feature was done. Nowadays though, it isnt that groundbreaking. Its an XE Nova, in a pretty colour with Calibra seats. When it was built, the engines were fetching nearly £2k, the seats would have been the equivalent of Astra VXR or VXR8 leathers etc etc. It's worth £3k to someone who will wave their dick about over the ownership of such a legend, but otherwise I fear most people would find it easier to build something from scratch & not empty the bank to find the asking price in one go.

1st time I saw it for myself in 1998. VPCC nat day.
