Just a quick question....
Is there anything I can do to stop my tyre valve leaking :? ?
Or is it a job for the "professionals" or new tyre etc?
Cheers
Replace the valve.
Tyre will need to come off. Drop it into KwikFit or similar. Shouldnt cost much.

Have you tried screwing the valve tight?

stick a small flat blade screwdriver down the side of the central pin, till it slots in beside the valve further in and turn clockwise..........

It all depends on which part of the valve you suspect is faulty. If its the metal bit you can see when you remove the dust cap, it can be tightened up/replaced with a special tool without removing the tyre.
If you think its the actual rubber neck (that sticks out of the wheel) then unfortunately, you will need to remove the tyre.
The most likely reason for your tyre going down is a slow puncture. Valves don't tend to fail that often. Jack the car up, remove the wheel, and have a thorough check for nails/screws/other sharp nasties embedded in the tyre.

when you have a new tire fitted, or a repair done or whatever they balance it and fit new valves anyway........

Gonna disagree with you there I'm afraid. If you buy a new tyre, they'll balance it for you, but won't change the valve automatically. You'll have to ask for it to be done, and probably get charged extra for the privilege!!
ive never asked for valves to be changed and they always have been changed.
dunno where you get yours done but hey
the tool is like a hollow tube with two slots so that the valve goes in and you undo/redo it. i belive you can buy new valve internals for sweet fa

ive got the TOOL too mate who worked at the garage gave it me just hope no one upsets me or they will have no valves in the tyres so it would be no good trying to pump them up
