I currently have a 'hidden' aerial, ghetto style one (Aerial wire with a ring connector screwed into a predrilled hole in the body (internal) lol.

It works pretty well but cannot get the weaker stations sometimes. What other options are there to have a better more reliable hidden aerial? I'm not one for listening to the radio much but there are occasions I do.

How does the hidden rear windscreen aerial work on some modern cars?

Thanks :thumb:

You'll need digital radio soon anyway. :(

Let's pretend that digital radio isn't coming!

lol Things ive seen done is a proper ariel in the blukhead/scuttle or behind the dash, not sure how well they worked and i bet it was no better than what you have now lol

Making one using a rear screen may work, tis a tricky one.

Just wondering how to go about using the screen. Is there anyway of using the current rear screen element as an aerial? Or would that just mean a heated demisting headunit? lol

the mk4 escort xr3i had the rear screen aerial and it was a blue box screwed in the boot lid.

There used to be ones for the fr screen aswell. Halfrauds do them iirc.

Bring back the times when a 'B-sting' aerial was cool.

lol very true, Bee-stings are past their cool period, hence me not wanting to fit one, the sharkones look pants on Nova's, the front wing mounted aerials just look out of place. Prefer not to have anything that will spoil the cars lines or make it look tacky.

Need to find out how these Ford box-of-tricks rear screen things work.

mine hasn't got one! but i may just put the wire to the now unused rear wiper wiring...that should be a long enough aerial lol

Buy a saloon and mount an electric one on the rear quarter

I had mine running thru/under the dash. Was fine but did power sig every so often. Now have one that sticks on the window and its perfect. Put it right at the top behind the mirror..
