Should come on as the gauge moves upwards? TBH i havnt had enough fuel in my nova to know, just going by what i remember and my tigra.

I always put a tenner in when on a quarter, I never trust nova gauges.

i fill mine up all the way, then wait till the orange light comes on...then wait a little longer....then wait till the needles right at the bottom and wait a little longer...wait for the misfire then get to the petrol station lol
unless of course i pass the petrol station anyway lol
Rubbish novas lol, I run the tigra untill it burps

fpmsl lol have some fuel rep.
You bugger, you edited your post jon lol
the fuel senders are notoriously poor on novas, so it is probably cheaper to buy a paddy hopkirk green can for the boot

my guage used to come on at half a tank in the gsi, then wouldnt come back on until i cut out lol

Sounds like you got a very generous fuel light there Benn lol
I changed the fuel guage to a MK2 item as my one broke (also changed the temp guage so they match lol ). It has the fuel warning light too and I also bought a brand new fuel sender from Vaux at the time. I emptied the tank before I changed the sender and stuck in 1 Jerry can worth of fuel. The needle didnt even move off the needle rest and the light didnt come on  so I stuck the rest of the fuel in, 2 more jerry cans, and the needle worked fine but no light ever came on. Me thinks I have a duff bulb too. Moral of the story don't trust the fuel light. lol
Only ever ran out of fuel once but that was my fault.
Can these fule bulbs be easily changed? I too would like to have everything working even if it's not exactly accurate :d

Mine comes on about half way into the red (GSi dials) and I reckon you could get 20/30 miles to the petrol light

Mine doesnt work:(
But works when I turn the ignition on!
It also cuts out below 1/8th of the guage, says theres fuel, but there clearly isn't

That's the one AW06 if it was as easy as what Jon Nova said think most of us would have changed it by now :p
