View Full Version : The time has come for a new Run around
Well ive owned my BMW E36 325 for a year now, its been a great car and ive really enjoyed it.
But i get bored so ive just secured a deal on the below - Its a 328i sport. Full M kit factory fitted, full leather climate control bla bla bla.
Im guna fit my M3 VADAR seats that i aquired for a small price, then ill more on to fitting the m50 manifold from the 2.5.
More details and pics when i pick it up on saturday.

nice car i know a guy selling one for £1500
i never liked the e36 (chav car here), but its looking good.
e30 FTW
thats a good price if its a fully loaded one like this.
Ive seen cheaper ones but there underspecked
ive got this one for £1400 buts thats with a bit of front end damage, luckily i have all the parts to repair it.
11 months mot and 5 months tax
nothing chav about a 328i sport, imo.
maybe i could see what you mean if it was a chaved up 316 driven by a 17yr old

Something looks 'over colour coded' with the fr end IMO, but a great price for a lot of car. I hate Beemers but after the Golf & thinking of trying an E36. I might get a tourer to avoid the 'chav' tag. lol

Im not sure to be honest, ive got to check.
Its not a problem if it doesnt have one, as ive got a one in my 325, so ill be swaping them over.

looks clean enough, not keen on the colour coded strips though. im guessing you'll be fitting the vaders asap, my bimmers have them in and any other seat is awful compared, iv even got them in my cab.
E36s are easily the best daily drivers for the price imo!

only the 328i coupes have them as standard, and M3s obviously.
Well it Apears that post 96 models didn't come with a LSD, they have traction control instead.
Vadar seats will be going straight in, thay are quality seats.

ah i wasnt aware of that, itl be an easy swap anyway.
You got black seats for the silver car? look at my project thread if you want any ideas on what to do and also e36coupe.com is quite decent for parts.
Yeah black seats, bit of a pain in the summer as they get so damn hot!
Cheers, I'll have a little look
been looking on eBay and they do the m50 manifold with all the brackets needed for £109, that's going to be the cheapest 20bhp if ever gained!
If also read that a LSD and traction control work against each other so I'll have to look into that, could fit the LSD and just turn the traction control off.

I bought some black seats a few months ago, i couldnt care how hot they get, they're fcuking amazing looking seats lol.
to save you scanning my thread, heres a couple of pics. all i would do with yours is slam it, fit the black mouldings and get either an evo splitter, gt splitter or both.

thats why i said overhere, i'm from the netherlands :)
the dutch and uk 'chav scene' is very different.
al the chavs here drive mk3 golf's and e36 bmw's, the LOL when spotting a young guy driving a nova gte/gsi.
although e36's like yours and l33leg's are sexy looking cars.
Cheap skate! get a proper M3!! lol
lol, i have been looking at some, but the insurance is a killer and i didnt want to munch into my savings to buy one.
Couple more pics inc the damage.
M3 badge will be coming off! Im leaving at half 2 in the morning to pick it up. Got to be in leeds by 7am!!!!

that damage is nothing. good thing with these cars is that there is loads of spares about and shouldnt cost much at all. looks clean enough! hopefully it wont have the common overheating problem!
well what a day yesterday was.....................
Left at 2.45am
set off im my mates combo van, making pretty good time
4.45am, decided to pull off the m1 for a quick break to stretch are legs.
As we pull into the service station, the oil light flicks on for a sec. so we thought best top it up. go round to the back of the van to find its covered in oil, not good i think to my self.
Filled it up with 3l of oil only to find its still not showing on the dip stick, mate decided to roll the van back only to reveal the 3l's of oil on the floor........
At this point we are 100miles from leeds freezing cold in the dark. so we jacked up the van to find a hole in the sump.GAME OVER!
But then i had a moment of wisdom, off to the petrol station we went, we came out with 5l's of oil and a pack of chewing gum, lol
Removed a bolt from the cage in the van, pushed it in the hole and covered it in chewing gum, in went the oil and we carried on our journey. 5:30am
7:10am, arrived in leads. The owner met us with a well needed coffee and the keys to the bwm. I had a good look around the car which revealed a few marks, mainly paint flaking on the bump strips but as im changing these for black ones it didnt bother me. So after a quick testdrive i handed over the money and sealed the deal. Happy days
So now back to the poorly combo van, looking down the road we could see the oil trail for the van, as predicted the bolt had fallen out the sump. We couldnt risk driving the van back, so out came the RAC.
They agreeded it couldnt be repaired on the road so arranged for it to be recovered back to southampton. 45 mins later the recovered truck arrived and the van was on its way home.
10:00am we leave leeds in the bmw, the car drove perfect and apears to be mechanically sound which you would expect with only 93k miles.
2:00pm we arrive back in southampton, just over 11hour round trip.
Im pretty pleased with the car, ive already spoke to my mate who is going to paint the spare m3 bumpers ive got. they will be fitted with the black bump strips that ive also got. Im on the look out for the side bump stripes and ive found a gt front splitter.
Pics to follow later today

sounds like a ball-ache but seems to have been worth it.
if you are getting a fibreglass splitter (which i presume you are), theres a guy on ebay and e36 which does awesome copies, proper strong. the first one i got from a different guy cracked all over, my current ones have been hit but still perfect. il pm you the guys name if you want.
look forward to the progress and pics :)
Yes please, pm would be great.
Ive found what is described as a genuine gt splitter for £40. does that sound about the right price?
Some thing i did notice on the way back yesterday was the climate control is a bit iratic. The blower just kicks is full wake randomly, is there a common fault with these?
Cheers for all the pics and info Lee

a genuine splitter would probably cost around £500 lol, they are obviously plastic and extend underneath the front of the car iirc. all i have ever found is fibreglass copies, i very much doubt the one you have seen is plastic, let alone genuine. if it is plastic though please let me know where to buy it.
i dont have climate control but my mates m3 has had a few. the first one didnt work so he got a new one which would randomly turn on and off. he once had one which was stuck on hot and speed 2 and got quite hot after an hours drive lol
il pm you in a minute with the guy i have used for the splitters, as said are very decent copies compared to others.
and no problem, il try not keep on spamming your thread though lol
Few Pics, havnt had a chance to clean it yet
