This is my car, i cant decide whether to keep it and fully restore it, or scrap it and go for something that doesnt have as much rust, it failed the m.o.t on-

 emmisions
 leaking fuel lines
 excessive "corrosion"
 couple of bald tyres

i know that the engine is pretty screwed, but was planning on 2.0 8v anyway, and theres a few dents and rust patches on the bodywork which i am working on now (good old P38)

sorry about the amount of pics, but judging by them, what does everyone reckon i should do?

the engine bay looks mint

only thing i can see there that needs work is the boot floor

the emissions could've prolly been sorted at the MOT station by adjusting the carb with it on the gas analyser

the fuel lines are relatively easy to fix

as are tires

fix it up - u know u wanna :D

the rear arches look quite good too except that little bit on one side

pics 10 and 11 i dunno what they are ??!?

keep it - arches look ok and the rest can be repaired with fibreglass - even the boot area. the bit behind the rear bumper (the 2nd pic) uis actually totally gone on mine!!!)

How much you want for it?

Most of the rust in the boot is on the surface and will disapear with a little rub down.

I cant see anything that would scare me away from the car (except the red oxide  )

Keep it, iy shouldnt take long or much money to right those problems.

205's are slow and deadly, they feel so rickety and cheap. I hate driving them. I would even less like to have a bump in one.

lol - thats what I call "light rust" compared to when I stripped mine down last year!

My light housings were mere metal strips - more like an outline than anything else! Rebuilt the whole lot in fibreglass!
