you can use a 1.6 cavalier carbed engine coil and dizzy but most use some form of managment.

As yours is the dispac xe im not sure if this would work as you usually just swap the dizzy and coil over and set the timing but as yours use's the dispac i cant see this working.

yes just get the early one
as for the choke cable a universal item should work fine

For ease - get management.

Otherwise you will need to swap cams over (not a big deal) and spend £100 ish for the coil/amp and loom.

You can get MBE for around £150 second hand...

You won't need to worry about a choke cable as you'll never need to use choke once set correctly.

so the management would just replace the loom and ECU i have would it

?? You wont be using your old loom at all!

All that gets stripped out.

Sounds to me like you may be getting somone to do this for you right?

In which case, to keep the costs DOWN, ignition management is the way forward...

IT depends thats why!

If you go coil route you will need an early cam as well as the coil, amplifier and loom.

The rest has been covered.

Also need the low-pressure pump.

MBE is a good all rounder - but they will all be fine.

I think Webber-Alpha is quite cheap?
