I recently purchased my very basic 993cc Saloon on 30k miles with some service history, she's not mint but not that far from it. I plan to put a 1300cc in at some point but just keep her standard...ish for now...

How I got her

I treated her to some Spax RSX after a 320miles round trip that she was supposed to make but couldn't due to having no will to start then stay running in the rain

So we had to strip the standard suspension and leave it on blocks until we returned

The coil cost me a fiver from an AA man. Was stranded in Centre Parcs at Sherwood Forrest whilst on honeymoon. Collected the Nova from Swindon during our honeymoon. Very forgiving nova loving wife.

It's a mk1 bumper grill, got it from here:

Yeah she's my daily so progress is slow really, might fit my 2ltr brakes next when i find a rebuild kit for ATE calipers

Then fix my damaged wing/front panel and she's ready for something bigger under the bonnet which will pay for itself pretty soon as i get 80miles to £15 on the run atm

Rysee

Decided to paint my ATE's today, Not a fan of the Yellow for a red car. I set about with some Nitromors, a wire brush and plenty of elbow grease. I forgot to get a pic of them stripped but I got most of the yellow off but not all as I left my tools at work(planning fail). I'm happy with them, a couple of coats of High temp Aluminium coloured paint and a couple of clear lacquer and they look alright :)

Scott & Jimbo, I probably would put the standard stuff back on and keep the parts I want, I have been looking(every 2 seconds) at an SR on ebay but my insurance company want to take me from £67pm to £147 which is mental so I'll do some thinking

Sell for an SR.... why? Loons have far more character than the hatch and I thought you were fitting a C16 so it would be quicker too...?

I just think i'll have it off the road for a fair while doing it myself, I have most of the parts but a mk1 SR was just tempting

This loon every time i start to enjoy it something small and niggly goes wrong with it. It hasn't given me anywhere near the pleasure to drive my old 1.2spi hatch gave me and that never gave me any trouble

Started my fist audio install today, I have a crafty plan for these which should fit the style of the loon. Vibe SEK60. No powertools were used in thr making of these... gay. Would have saved a good while

Come on Scott no power tools haha, and they will be hidden

Milko - I realised before not having a car seriously affects your summer. So i'll probs do it september time. Handy as my insurance is up start of oct and i can take a new policy with 2 years NCB rather then cancelling this one and getting one with 1 years NCb
