Is it cheaper for me to insure a 2l nova that was origionally a 1.0?
Or if it was originally a 1.6 gte?
As the power increase chart thingy?
Discuss...
you need to fully declare the engine conversion or the insurance will be void! Edit, not read correctly, it'll be classed as to what the engine is out of, ie astra gte etc.

Most specialists will base rate the premium on where the donor engine came from.
is that found out by the engine number?
im guessing cally would be cheaper than astras n cavs then

i told them it was a modified engine from a mariva with a c16 ecu to get passed the imob stuff
thats why my insurance was under £300 a year even with the charger lol
But technically a Meriva has a completely different engine :p

Be careful.. if an insurer suspects foul play (especially in the event of a claim) they will do some very careful investigations.

So do I put my shell as a 1.0 or a gte?
As I'm still not sure if its cheaper as a 1600 as only a 30% power increase as opposed to a 200% increase!

On the logbook!
But I have been offered a 1600 gte book, and if that makes the insurance cheaper, then i will go for that!

What engine do you have fitted to your 1l?
So do I put my shell as a 1.0 or a gte?
If its a 1.0, you tell them its a 1.0
If its a 1.6 GTE, you tell them its a 1.6 GTE.
Next question?
[edit] I feel your pain though, the guy at Direct Line was like WTF when I asked them for a quote on the Nova, as that went from 45bhp to 210. lol

So you've been offered a gte log book, and you're thinking of transfering the gte id to the 1.0 shell?

That would be 'ringing' then and last time i checked it is highly illegal, silly boy!
Has the guy with the logbook got a chunk of the floor with the chassis number on to weld into your 1.0 shell as well then?
