Wtf is wrong with my bumper ?

Ive noticed a few other mk1's have the same problem as me, when i put the bumper on, the left side lines up perfect but the right side hangs down and looks crap any ideas why this happens on mk1's ? :cry:


Im Just trying to get everything lining up before i paint it.

Try loosening the bolts/screws, hoik it upwards & then tighten all the fasteners when in position.

just move the bracket up on the drivers side

As above realy, I did it on mine to make it a tighter fit.

You can move the bracket upwards.

mine is the same :/

and the front does not follow the grill line lol

Turn the bracket upside down? So the hole is lower thus moving the bumper up. Or the other way round if that makes sense lol

Are you on about turning the crossmember upside down ? or the plastic bracket at the side ?


Anybody know what causes the bumpers to fall down to the side like this ? ive noticed it on a load of mk1's

The plastic bracket, as thats the problem area. Has the hole rusted bigger?

i dont have this problem?,

and i cant think what woudl solve your problem.

if it was on the front, i would say the side brackets, you can flip them the other way around and it makes it sit up tight to the wings

There isnt any rust, i rebuilt the car and now im putting the bumpers back on and they just fit like that, its really doing my head in geting them to line up.
