hi, quick question.....can a standard c25xe cope with low boost without lowering the compression ratio etc????

ive seen a few conversions done, but not sure what ha sbeen done to the engine internally etc.

i was going to use a t2 turbo on the rear exhaust manifold and run 6-8psi boost just through a cooler, just for a little extra kick?

have also thought about a supercharger.

just buy a saab engine ready made with the single turbo

Yeah bang it on, it's all about heat management.
I'd say you want the earlier Cav inlet/ECU. Bit better for chucking in more fuel.

ive got the early cav engine, can you turbo the standard lump then? if so what kind of boost?

i saw that kit on flea bay but to be honest if the standard lump can cope with boost id rather make my own manifold etc.

Upto 10psi would be fine. (assuming the rest of the spec isnt Gyppo)

lol, gyppo? im assuming something in the region of t2 and t25 will be ok?
any suggestions on fuel pump etc? or will the 2.5 pump cope ok? ive got kent reground cams in at the mo aswell. not sure how that will work. its 205bhp at the mo.

Interesting how the ebayer fails to mention the saab turbo V6 was actually 10bhp less than the N/A one. Its a shonky design as it only runs off one bank too. Meh.

You reckon? The cav inlet is naff as hell, its one of the reasons why the 180 makes more power.

Are you planning on fitting this to a Nova?

maybe lol, :)
im not after massive power gains, just a little extra really.
just wanted to know if it can cope with a little boost without melting etc.
i dont want to have to take the heads off as ive only just built the bugger (3months or so ago)

has anyone elso done this too a standard 25xe?
