iv been told so many stories about wrapping the manifold does it give you any gain at all?? the only reason i have wrapped mine is to hide the welds where we shortened the manifold lol. like to know what other people think lol

you wont notice the gains, but it does make working in the bay easier when hot. And also less heat dumped to the rad.

plus looks tidier :)

It is a good idea to wrap it as it keeps the under bonnet temps to a minimum which is a good thing !! Every four branch i had was wrapped

I wrapped mine mainly to tidy it up. Nothing worse than flakey paint!!!

Ashley told me not to heatwrap my mild steel manifold as they can end up cracking.

It took something like 3-4 years of utter abuse to get Dans to crack when it was wrapped. Draw your own feelings from that

like grunt said it lowers under bonnet temps, and in turn that lowers induction temperatures which is required for maintaning consistent horse power.
the hotter the air, the less dense it is, so the less amount of it the engine can cram into the cylinder, so you dont get as big of a bang as when its cooler.

if that was right, don't you think new cars would all come with it fitted?????

No, because its more faf and an unnecessary extra cost, apparantley because it flows better its supposed increase the engines performance (tiny amounts) but thats probably said only to sell!
