Lee

Yeah, because MK1s are amazing to work on! The dials come out so easily, and go back even easier!

bmw156
30-10-09, 05:37 PM
lol i would say mk2 clocks are easier to get out,

and yeh mk1 dashes do suck.

i am just on about the front end. there are more bolts. and pushy things and clips everywhere.

To be fair if you're gonna complain about working on a nova you seriously need to assess your skills with a spanner, then give an 09 plate interior a go lol

Good looks are more complicated. Lets face it, vauxhall just bolted two square lights on the front of the MK1 and wedged a square bit of plastic in between them to fill the gap.

maybe your too heavy handed as i never broke anything and my mk2 came apart easy. the new owner removed the grill and snapped it and one part stayed under the light. i ll let him off because his car before was a clio.

My mate managed to take the front end of his Mk2 apart in seconds.

He hit a metal bar at 70mph.

My favourite plastic covers are the undertrays under modern engines to catch oil leaks so they don't stain your drive... and you don't know you've got a leak until the oil light comes on, which lets face it most people won't know what it is, and you then get the bag of spanners and a sudden halt. $$$ for the dealership on a fresh engine lol

lol to you all, yes im building an engine.

and its not that i was uncappable of not taking apart the front end. i was mearly stating that its alot harder then the mk1 easyness im used to.

lynz, yeh kelly has a nova, se my thread i started on it.

and mk1 win, end of.

wwmnw, yeh the mk1's dressed up are gay like AW06. but who started the nova, the mk1, if it wasnt for them, the mk2 would never be here.

How did you find it hard getting the headlights/grille out? So easy its unreal. And the spring holding the indicators in is good and simple.

having not done it befor lol, i undone the two bolts and lifted the headlight slighty and tryed pulling it, no joy, found the spring, still no joy, worked out it was the ****ty clip at the bottom being a bitch lol.

and the grill. the 4 pushy things on top, i dont think it has ever been removed befor, so were stiff as anything. and the end clips are just annoying lol
i did get it all of with out breaking it tho :d

You clearly never had technic lego as a child did you martin, i think the novas designers built the concept from technic lego and then wrapped metal around it, theyre easier than a pissed up hooker in the redlight district to pull apart and i cant beleive youre complaining you plum :p

okay, how the hell did the mk2 get on the curb that low? Does it not have an exhaust? (anymore) lol

Spudly
01-11-09, 06:10 PM
The mk2 was mine and i drove up the drop kerb so was fine, tbh there is plenty of exhaust height clearance with a standard system (aslong as its pegged up correctly and all of the hangers/rubbers are present) lol

MK999
01-11-09, 06:27 PM
last time I went up a kerb a week later I was bolting the system back on in the peeing rain after I booted it and the engine twisting pulled it out of the joint I'd knocked the clamp off a week earlier! lol
