Nearly sold my rolling shell and all parts but have decided that I really need to try and take the time to do the project.

Had a number of novas in the past including 3 mk1 SRs and an L reg GSi. Always planned on getting another one at some stage and kept an eye out for a suitable base for a project.

Purchased this in May 2007 through ebay and since then its been dry stored while slowly being reduced to a rolling shell. In that time I've been collecting various parts for it such as Mk1 Sr interior, window surrounds, digi dash, engine, etc.

The plan had always been to build a replica of my first red SR (in avatar) so full respray in Carmine Red, new vynal etc. Lack of funds at the moment mean that I'll simply be putting it back together, fitting the engine and getting it back on the road.

Not too much required in terms of bodywork repairs. Plates required on the rear chassis just behind the shock absorber on each side and, a small repair to the rear panel. Other than that, the basic shell is in really good condition.

Car when purchased:

Will update on progress.

cheers!

Vaughan, grill could be as i sold my SR bumper and Grill before taking the decision to keep. Main priority though for the minute is to get the engine in a running and then worries about the cosmetics later!

No problem mate, it's white and needs some fibreglass to join the black grill part to the main body but could be yours quite cheaply :)

Nice one for keeping it.

As it's stripped just now it's a good time to sort and paint any niggly parts - looks a solid shell from what you can see.

Look forward to watching this one:thumb:

made a little progress. Stripped out the drivers rear shocker and had a prod around at the corrosion which caused its mot fail back in 2007:

doesn't look too bad actually so will get it cleaned up and a suitable plate welded on. What sort of gauge of material is best for this type of repair? I've got the same on the other side and then a small repair on the rear panel and that should be it for repairs.

Also started on the wiring so the drivers doors now has the electric window regulator in place, central locking unit and the wiring.
