One of the bearings in my F10/F13gearbox is starting to fail, I will be replacing it but don't know where to get them from.

Any ideas?

A recon gearbox company?

Are you sure there is a bearing going?
I've yet to hear of one failing......

unless of course you mean the clutch release bearing.

Increaces with road speed and goes when stopped, isn't effected by clutch operation. Sounds like its either the main shaft or diff bearings to me.

wheel bearing?????

only the really early f10 4 speed boxes suffered with crap bearings.. I did one after 6 years of hard use. it was fairly easy to swap gbox bearings.. the big symptom was the whining noise when stopped with the box in neutral and foot off the clutch.. if yours does it whether or not the clutch is in or out, then it usually is the wheel bearing... it just sounds like the gearbox is shagged

gm gearbox bearings are very non standard. the 2 piece input shaft bearing is a work of art.. i'd be surprised if they could actually supply them

i always thought that gearbox reconditioning simply involved a steamcleaner, a wire brush & some silver paint, i must be wrong
