I've got this shifter out of a Cav turbo. Can this be used as it doesnt look like the ones used in the guide?

yeah should work imo, but you need to straighten the rod i think, and cut a bit off.

Right i've now sourced another shifter but im still unsure which one to use. The one pictured above has no kink by the gear stick its a strange bent profile toward the gear linkage end. The new one ive got has a kink near the gear stick in the vertical direction when the stick is near neutral but is quite a bit shorter than the one pictured above. Here they are side by side.......Please can someone confirm which to use and where to cut. From what ive read i need to remove the kink which is approx 3 inch long from the gear stick side of the black one.

Your question has already been answered, all I've read is it needs to be straight. So whichever you can cut down and reweld straight will fit!

If both are too short after cutting out the kink you could always weld the end of one on to the other to get the desired length.

Yeh i know they have to be straight it was the length that concerned me and i assumed that all Cav shifters would be the same. Just wanted to be 100% sure before i chop one up. Ill go with the black one.

Thanks
