Okay, so my Sony XS speakers are knackered lol! But be fair they are second hand and they've probably been thumped to death by my mate when he bought 'em years ago!

So the time has come to splash out on a new set of 6x9's. I've been looking at Infinity and the Pioneer TSE series speakers. What I'm after is the best all-rounder cause I dont have a sub and I'm not getting one or anything. So I want a speaker that can handle some loud bass without distorting. They're running off a 52w x4 Sony CDX-CA600 head unit and aye.... a ?ton or under too!

Any ideas?

Cheers!

I was looking at JBL GTO-935e's. What you reckon? They seem value at ?35 and 300w!

You get what you pay for, for ?35 new you are going to get s**t sounds, lets be real, you need to look at around ?80-?100 upward, i had some ?50 kenwoods I thought were ace, Then got some second hand JBl C930 fpr ?100 (?220 retail) and WOW I could get rid of my sub (but i ain't going to  ), moral of the story, You Get What You Pay For :?:

ICE is usually the same as a spray job! YOU GET WHAT U PAY FOR!!

Get a RF/directed/audiobahn setup and expect the nova to fall apart in a week!

Buy budget for ?30 and expect sound but not of the same quality or immenseness! You can get bargains but to be honect most really cheap ICE is DIRT!

Oh god, NO!

A set of decent components up front (amped) with a sub in the boot sounds a lot better than with a 6x9 's. Soundstage is a lot lot better without 6x9's.....

OK if you have passengers in the back a lot of make love everynight in the backseats to Tina Turner : Whats love got to do with it... fine, but so glad I ditched mine... and then somebody stole em, oh well.

Its too late!!

Na, pukkah! Went down to Halfords on pay-day and had a listen to those JBL's. As predicted they sounded wank - and the Kenwood KFC-6907's next to it at the same price (?55.99) sounded mint! So I came out with a pair of them.
I know, I know! "Why didn't you get them from MCS Thom?! It would have been cheaper!" Well it was a nice day and I wanted them right then... OKAY!!!!???

he he he, cheers for the advice. :)
