Hi-Is it the steering wheel that's off ? Your tracking would be way out if the bottom arm got bent.It might be the top of the strut-shock absorber that's bent or the top mount.

Check the x member.
Which way is out off centre?

Oh and stop text typing.

i had a similar problem what it is is when the tie bar bends it pulls the x-member back so when you change the tie bar your wheel will be pushed back and tracking out. well thats what was up with one of mine.

None of the above.

I garantee the suspension leg is bent :thumb: i sheared one open when i hit a curb at 40ish in the snow early this year.

mike has already told you that it is the bottom arm. it is the designed weak point on nova suspension. undo it & fit a new one & all will go back into place. 10 minutes work

Mowgli, if he says that there is a upwards dent and paint flakin off then surly hes found the problem? can just wait for pics.

New lower arm wont help it if its like he says it is.

was it a genuine suspension arm? because pattern parts are not very accurate.

i'm now guessing that the car needs jigging. to test this, you need to choose a few reference points on the car & measure the wheel postion in 3 dimensions, not just front and back.

mine looks excatly the same in the above pic, with the wheel side on, and the bottom arm was probably worse then your bent one above,

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c325/bmw156/DSC_2809.jpg

i should of put the wheels straight, but you can get the idea that its more to the back then front.

also as said above, it passed an MOT, and the driving hasnt been affected at all.

lol you retard, i obs replaced the bottom arm and tiebar.

and its still like that. do you not read the thread.

p.s when the bottom arm was bent the wheel was touching the inner splash guard and the wheel was crumbing under the car.

and where did you get the replacements from???? and did you get the tracking checked???????

even stevie wonder could tell that something is still bent... the tie bar is not bent, because it is a straight bar, the strut will not be bend, or it would not work at all, so either the bottom arm or its mount is bent, or the track rod is nana shaped

the replacment i got of a nova in the scrappy, both tiebar and bottom arm from the same car.

and the tracking, yeh i had it redone, just after i replaced the alloy! as that was knackered.

So, you fitted an arm off a scrap car & you wonder why the wheel is still bent back..............................etc
