Help needed with 16v

I am fitting my 1.6 16v engine in the morning and i seem to know everything i need to to do the conversion.

The only thing is i cant seem to figure out what the unit in the picture below is and what it connects to, i think it has something to do with the vacuums.

help needed asap....

looks like the tank vent valve...

yes i got one of those, it wont harm anything.

not sure what its for but can tell ya where it goes.
when engine is in and all wiring sorted, one plug will be left. as you stand at the front of the car , look in the area to the right of the inlet manifold and its around there. there is a mounting bracket near here too(not sure where as its a few years since i fitted one of these engines)
Mine was plugged it and the two little pipes were not connected (engine ran fine)
