Had my 1st shot ae painting the day with a gun/compressor etc at the college
Absolutely loved it, seemed easier than I actually thought...
Take's a wee while to get used to it but it will become better with more time and practise etc
Here's a quick shot of the scrap wing I painted for practise:

I might take the Sport wings in and prime them and maybe paint them
What do you think ?

Coloured snot= win.
Air fed is gay.
coughing blood isnt lol ;)
lol in my books as long as you use a good twin filter mask your good, but that's not spending all day in spraying. If i was in there all day i might think differently.

Looking good Vaughanmc, especially for a first attempt. You're right it does always seem hard to do before you try it. It's a shame I stopped continuing spraying when I left the bodyshop place I was working at when I was 18, would have been a pro by now :( .
I say keep practicing and hone your skills. At the end of the day if you want something done properly, the way you want, you're best off doing it yourself as no one will understand what you want done as much as you do. Spray the sport yourself save loadsa money too :thumb:

What's a drop coat ? lol
Cheers everyone, I can't wait to get battered in about more panels etc
A drop coat is used on metalic base coat !! its were you drop the air pressure down to 1.5 bar and spray it over and it just sits on the top so you get the metalic flick visable
I'm on a years course of Vehicle Body Repair and Refinishing :) Quite good!
I'm doing my first year on vehicle body repairs as well! You can't be on your first year though? We aren't going near a spray gun till after christmas, we've gotta do all our workshop skills first, brazing is going well, welding's next which i'm really looking forward to!!
I presume these courses you lads are doing are full time?
Yeah full time, which they count as 3 days a week 9-5. More like part time if you ask me! lol
Looks good mate really good finish for straight out the gun!

Aye doing wee panels here and there doesn't take long but to do a whole car it's a lot
Saying that, the college provide the guns, gun cleaner, paint, primer etc etc I guess that's where all the money comes into it

Wouldn't mind painting the inside and engine bay of the new Nova but I'm no that confident about doing the whole outside...
