currently building my nova and i want achieve a minimalist look in the engine bay, i would like to relocate the coil, wiper linkage, washer bottle, hide all wire and has anyone done any heating mods, i dont really want that heater unit sticking out of my engine bay but i still want some form of heating, any ideas???:thumb:

Coil is easy, either long king lead or mount down by the gearbox or under the inlet manifold like mine. Washer bottle is easy to move to the scuttle tray.
Wiring is a case of extending it and re routing it under the wings, wiper wise, try a ax/bx wiper or so first. To see if you are happy with it.. Heater not alot you can do sadly..

Mine, still have work to do tho. Still to many wires and pipes...

Benn's is all very well hidden for a non carb car.

If you make a scuttle cover you can practically relocate everything into there.

This was mine although it wasn't running. Still had manifold to fit and was going to have bailey header & oil catch tanks...

You can also fairly easily change the wiring loom so that all your wires come out in the battery tray rather than in the bay. You can feed the wires to the lights etc down the inner wing and the rest of the wires stay in the scuttle to the bits you've relocated. Anything going to the engine you can take thru the hole that the battery wire goes through to the starter and its normally hidden by the inlet manifold.

Sprayer looked at me well odd when I asked him to mask it up! Wouldn't have matched the shonkyness of the rest of the car otherwise! lol

benn, that engine bay is inspiring mate, awesome, and its a turbo! when you smoothed off the inner wings how did youl fill the original gap? surely its too deep for fiberglass/filler? nice job... and simps, cheers :thumb:

ok the wipers no problem, ill attack that when ive got some time, wires will be a struggle for me as im sh@te at all that but ill give it a go, thinking of removing washer bottle and washers all together, and ill move the coil down by the leg... sorted, wanna make my inner wing things smoth like bens. but i dont know what to do with this heater, maybe remove all original heating components except tubing that goes to vents, and mount a universal 12v heater behind dash and link it to vent, wire up to a switch and jobs a gooden??????lol

Whats wrong with the heater? Its not in the way in the scuttle area. The 2 water pipes coming out are hardly noticeable.

Keep the washer bottle mate, you'll regret removing it. Its sooooo easy to fit one in the scuttle its unreal.

Cheap my WIP thread mate regards wiring. I'm sure I posted which wires etc to chop, lengthen etc to move the engine bay outlet.

thing is ive cut the front skuttle panel off so i dont want anything there apart from ax wiper linkage, is there any threads on here about basic wiring??

Cheers dude, all the seams where plated over and welded for shape then skimmed to make smooth.

Wiring is easy, there are loads of ways to cheat at it, pm me.

You'll need the header tank somewhere high, for the water to flow thru. But moving it from the bay can be tricky.
Wash bottle can be hidden under the dash. Battery in the boot. loom you can drill a whole for so it comes in just above the pedles.

Use a Corsa header tank & move it so its mounted off the firewall. That will free up the inner wing & make it look empty.

I would not ditch the heater matrix & deffo would not rely on a 12v incar heater. (pants)
