What other reasons other than cable fraying and return spring can there be for my revs staying at 2000plus.

It started this morning and its doin me head in.

To get it back to normal i have to twat the pedal then they come down. Thats the reason why i think its them 2 wanna check first though.

Any suggestions any idea how much new cables are a clutch one was ?9

My clutch is doing that! When you put pedal down, you have to push hard and then it sticks sometimes or isnt rite down! This equals SHIT, nearly crash, revs at 6000rpm all of sudden or crunch to gearbox!

Could do with sorting it!

lol i know the feeling i had a list of stuff to do to mine and ive done them all today.

Ive just soaked it all in wd40 around the exit point for cable and the spring on carb and it seems to have worked. Apparantly the cable is a main dealer ship job and i aint paying ?25 for 1

Do you have an auto-choke?

Thats the reason for 2000rpm.......

A New Cable will make such a big difference, it's hard to explain, but get it done and you WILL understand.

as cables age and get used they "wear" away at the internal radius of a bend, meaning that the sheath and cable get flatspots, so eventually they will work against each other causing sticcking/stiff operation etc.

when you remove the cable (while still in the sheath) rotate the wire and feel when it "stops". thats jsut to feel the effect. put your new cable in, and its a surprising difference, light and responsive etc

does anyone know where to buy springs from?

i need a new one

well two actually

a spring that pushes away

and one that pulls sommat together again

the push away one needs to be strong, but the pull towards is for the throttle so it needs to be light
