My mate had a 1.2 and he fitted a PiperX filter, SR carb, inlet and exhaust manifold and a Magnex system and it did help a little. It didn't make it a cossie killer but it was definately better to drive!

Well ur gonna be lookin at ?500 for a few bhp. It's not really worth it. Ur best spendin ur cash on ICE. That way u can move it to a new car when u can afford it.

GET A GRIP.
a 1.2 does not and will not piss on an sr, and peco are shite and do not give power gains especially off just a back box.
chris the cheapest way to more power is to put a bigger engine in, it'll cost more for cams airfilters etc.

get a weber 32/34 carb (about 100quid second hand)and get it set up on a rolling road (about 50 squids) might then keep up with an sr. if you want a faster car, its better to sell it and get one with a bigger engine.

Trust me,
I am old. I have had my SR a while, I have rubbed a lot of people the wrong way when I've driven, a 1.3SR with gentle modification (full magnex exhaust/filter) will NEVER be run into the ground by ANY 1.2.
If it is, then there is something wrong with the driver. (8v's are about torque, not really about RPM)

190BHP? Thats 158bhp per litre, Top touring cars knock out about 300ish from a 2 litre which is 150bhp per litre and thats with some very very serious mods. You will be doing well if you break the 100bhp per litre mark (120bhp)sorry but it can't be possible. Unless youv'e got a 1.6 bottom end?
