been looking for a toy for ages, and im getting bored of reading the same sorta stuff and stupid ass power figs.

Tonights is a corsa xe on webber 40's pushing out 200brake 1/4 fig set at 14.01. With the usual Lightened and balance bottom end with lightened flywheel. Nobody ever has proof of work carried out etc.

Not 100%, but im sure twin 40's on an xe could actually lower the power as opposed to improving it.

Its just annoying me now, that is all :tard:

i knew of an xe on 40's that ran fairly well, 165bhp I think it was....200?? pmsl you struggle to get that with 'bodies!

This is gonna seem faily petty/childish but on ebay when i see a ****ed car (show car init) quoteing power figures i usually e-mail them asking about it, what mods/any proof of power or is it just estimated.

'tis funny the crap most of them send back.

Sadly its the consequence of our hobby appealling to school kids. :(

Its been bugging me for years. I hate reading things like 'forged conrods' or 'lightened & balanced pistons'. Better still, G-MAX -60mm. :(

Oh they all come up with the greatest of excuses
pathetic ones like-"well its that fast the printout blew out the window on the way home from RR"
"The dog barfed on it"
"The printer was out of ink the operator said but i can go back whenever to get it"

why would anyone consider buying a car that has no provable history, all sorts of 'mods' and the only fact you really know is that the seller has ragged the t1ts off it & its started falling to bits, so it needs selling quick.........

is this the black one around the northwest? as i know of a z20let that has a similar description to the one your talking about that ran 14.2

and when i got a lightened bottom end, all i got was a receipt saying "lightened and balanced crank and flywheel" lol

I think its just everyone insists they have the most powerfull example of said engine/car/mods etc.

No one ever says, XE Corsa, r/rd at 149bhp, runs sweet, economical, bit rattly in the mornings................ That wouldnt put me off tbh.

Instead.. XE Corsa, 200bhp tested, out runs Porsches on the Autobahn, guy I bought it from says it is cammed, Regal Motorsport chip & K&N. Reluctant sale due to minging girlfriend up the duff. May swap for mint series 1 RS turbo..... (LOL)

the headlamp is chipped,
lightened bottom end means the sump has been worn down on mcDonalds speedhump & the shells are thin as a whisker....
balanced: it had some tyres fitted once...
cammed: it misfires under 4k
performance system: its got holes in it

My favourite ebay special that I sent messages about was a "Corsa gsi show car innit" lacks power and arsed car magazine features, was an M reg so I asked him what engine's in it, "I think it's that second code you mentioned, it's quick though" was the basic answer I got, so I asked him if it had an immobiliser, and whether it was factory fitted, and also what his reserve is "yeah it's factory, and I'm keeping the reserve close to my chest as i've just put it up" so while thinking... why? I sent a message back "Ah nevermind, I was just after the engine anyway" He didn't reply after that, think he was offended that I was going to use his wikkid show car innit as a donor lol

40's on a xe goes fine. but not 200hp.

Stuart

cba to read it all, but 40's will clip max power to approx 150ish but you get a shed load of low down torque.... Not sure why you would goto all the faf of fitting 40's to an XE but hey.

I love it when it says "Tuned, lightened, balanced, 2000 bhp etc" then it says "still on the logbook as a 1.2"

cheers on the 40's advice fella, i was always under the impression 45's were the way to go. And the 40's would strangle the engine. Well i guess it does in a way but this is nearer to the top end.

Benn

With the right jets, chokes and such they are ok, but you'll lose puff top end.
That's where 45s are better. But 200 brake from it.. that's dreaming anless alot lot lot lot of works been done..
