yep but more complicated then that,

hendrix fitted a one way valve into his boost fuel feed so it stopped the fuel on boost,
he can still hear the turbo spool up, but his gauge is running neg pressure, i think its a pipe somewhere or hes blew the plastic bits off his cooler with hes 30psi holding pressure lol

spud, had a mega early engine, his is all strange, saftey blow of valve, some mega long gearbox,

me and spud at the same rpm same speed, hes in 4th im in 5th :wtf:

I think they should all have the safety valve that opens at something like 1.5bar... Not sure tho.
But i know mine dont have that valve, but mine has a different inlet to most others....

I dont even use a controller anymore, ive just got the actuator hose blocked off so the wastegate stays shut. It still wont boost over 19/20psi.. lol lol

It smokes like fook on boost....

Mine does seem to be different as it has a temp sensory thing in it and it did have a safety valve which we found a suitable replacement plug to screw into it:d


Goes really well and a lot less smoke than it was kicking out before and once its up to about 70+ if you floor it in fifth it flies up to some speed and i reckon it needs an F28 as the engine goes but it runs out of cogs lol

Ive showed that vid to two others and sent it to jack and they all say befinate boost leak as the turbo is still spinning/whining, look at the plastic bits on your intercooler andy as they may have smashed due to possibly trying to hold 25-30 psi:s

Id guess at that too, it sounds like the shaft is "free-wheeling" and just spinning not spinning the compressor. Either that or just a massive boost leak causing the whistling noise....

I still call boost leak - the whistling noise proves its pushing air through it (I've heard the same on noise a GT4 that had a leak). If the shaft was borked, the exhaust end would spin but not push air, so it would be silent. Or at least a damned sight quieter.

Mind you, the blower on my Celica doesn't sound far off that lol

Yeah first thing i suggested him to check, hes had them all off this morning along with all the vac pipes too.

Im thinking if it is a leak somewhere its gotta be pretty big for all of the boost pressure to escape from it, my money will be on the plastic ends of the standard intercooler tbh:thumb:

I'm still sticking with saying the turbo is buggered. Had pipes off the top and bottom of the 'cooler and it still makes the same noise. Also the actuator appears to be fine. All will become apparent when I take the turbo off I guess :thumb:

it will do, that valve you put in was set to about 18psi

so you had to put 18psi into the engine even before the boost fuel would go into it lol

just got of the phone with hendrix

he pulled the bottom pipe of the intercooler and got covered in oil,
hes taken the turbo off, there about 1mm forward and back, and abut 4-5mm play side to side, enough for the blades to hit the side lol

i think hes nuked the seals, lost the oil and fried the bearings, 1000 points to hendrix lol

but iv had my turbo that hot its melted the samcos attached to it lol, still going strong lol

iv noticed the 'lazy' oil pressure sensors on all my TD's takes a few seconds for the light to go out, but the light dont even come on when you have no oil :wtf: lol

i also broke down today, i booted it, guagewent to 21psi bang then nothing down to n/a power, got out and put the pipe back on lol
