Not as far as I'm aware, as long as it clears the screen and it the rubber blade isn't perished.

As above.
Fiat pandas and citroën ax's had them as standard so they passed okay.

Mine just passed last week so no, as long as it's not in the field of vision. ie not stopped on the drivers side or the middle of the screen you should be fine.
Middle of the screen may be ok

Windscreen Inspection Zones
Zone 'A is:
. in the swept area of the Windscreen
. 290mm wide
. centred on the centre of the steering wheel.
Reason for Rejection
1. In Zone 'A:
a. damage not contained within a
10mm diameter circle, or
b. a Windscreen sticker or other
obstruction encroaching more than 10mm
c. a combination of minor damage areas which seriously restricts the driver's view
In the remainder of the swept area:
d. damage not contained within a 40mm diameter circle, or
e. a Windscreen sticker or other
obstruction encroaching more than 40mm
f. a temporary Windscreen fitted.
I wouldn't have thought a centre park wiper would encroach into zone A? But if it does, it would be a reason to reject.

if its parked in the middle of the screen its at the testers discretion as to whether or not he fails it. if he thinks it impairs the drivers view of the road he is within his rights to fail it.
i only finished the testers course yesterday so its all fresh in my mind lol
its at the testers discression so theres no way of saying yes or no really. As long as it parks more on the passenger side i would say it will be fine.
Meh, well what I posted is a copy direct from the manual, so if a tester did fail it an it wasn't in the "zone", I'd be intrigued as to his reasoning.
Whats in the manual and what actually goes on is a different story in a lot of cases lol

if wiper sits in middle of scuttle panel it wont fail because it clears both sides if it was at ns of screen the sweep wouldnt go near os of the screen my mate owns and runs an mot station just asked him

what you havent quoted is that anything obstructing over 40mm or the rest of the swept area is a reason for rejection. swept area being the whole of the windscreen covered by the wipers, not just zone A
