hey chaps i've tried to find a post about charging the e16se but seem to have no luck, i was wondering if you could help ie which charger to choose and what i should have done to the engine so i dont blow it up lol. thats if it can be done at all, i just wanted to be different to the turbo 1600's that seem to be popping up. any help is greatly appreciated, cheers tom

Baxter supercharged a 1.6 16v but haven't heard of any 8v.

obviously a cooper one.

everything else will need to be a one off for it, including a decent mappable ecu. PPC mag is doing a 1600 crossflow at the moment & it might be good for tips.

Avoid the mini chargers. They are very inefficient.
Get a Rotrex if you can afford to make a proper job of it.

But to do it on a budget, use a rising rate reg, a well placed intercooler & keep everything nice & cool. The compression shouldnt need lowering if you heed the above. Turbochargingwill yield the best results imo & looking at it, you will need a compact 4 branch manifold that doesnt foul the charger & route the boost hoses around the fr engine mount & rad hose.

Do-able though.

Find some books on the subject.
