Howdy,

I think the servo on my '84 SR with xe in it is going - think the seal is gone and drawing in the wrong mix of air / fluid. Is there such a thing as buying the wrong servo? Want to ensure have the most appropriate one, which I presume would be a GTE/GSI or are these the same as the SR servo?

Gte/gsi/diesel Servos Are Different To You 84 Sr One and They Do Fit, And Work Fine, If You Can Get One Then Do So

Best to get a servo & MC from the same car. The bolt patterns can vary & you cant mix & match them sometimes. Just check the rubber seals on the vac pipe arent split where the pipes enter the servo. Or that the one-way valve isnt shot. (you can only draw air through it one way)

The preffered servo is the Gte/Gsi item which is a fair amount bigger than the ones fitted to lower spec models. All nova master cylinders are the same Iirc. As Craig said though check the fittings first.
