Which exhaust?

Im after a full system for my xe nova, i dont want one thats so loud it sets car alarms off lol

What would you recommend for a good tone thats not cheese, i want it to sound pretty much as a standard 2.0 16v until you wind it up with say a 3 inch inward rolled pipe straight not on an angle out of the side of the car!

A friend of mine owns tony law exhausts in leeds but they tend to build mild steel rally spec systems and we think it would make the nova too loud.


Any recommendations welcome.

if you go to a custom exhaust maker they should be able to make a system to you spec.

My mate at tony law says if i buy say a magnex for the gsi he will make the manifold to suit it so i was looking to purchase a system, ive heard good and bad storys about companys like powerflow and custom uk etc

My powerflow on my baby xe is pretty good but is 6 years old though, must have been before they got a bad rep.

They might not have bad rep but some have said bad things, i used to have a magnex 8 years ago and powerflow modded it for my 1.6 16v corsa gsi lump but 8 years later and the place has gone lol

If you want quiet dont get a ashley!

Magnex/Scorpion are very quiet, and just give a nice tone when you boot it.

My sportex is loud, and sounds raspy as fook. = w4nk

I have a Magnex S/S system for mine. Sounded great on my C14SE. Not chavvy, but a nice rasp to it. I will be keeping it when i drop my XE in. But i want an oval backbox.

Ive got an ashley on my Gsi, sounds great with the cam and ashley 4branch! My mate had a ashley system on his Xe, sounded great, nice and raspy!

try power flow in newport benn had his made there he was very happy with his i hear.

My xe hatch had a gsi mongoose on it, three inch inward rolled, straight exiting tail pipe, wasn't too loud but maybe a bit raspy. For my saloon I have a full jp which is a work of art and I would definately use them again if money was no object
