Check the wiring.

Does this have a icv like the 20xe? if so ive just had the same problem tonight ,check the plugs to the knock sensor and the icv because there the same connector on the 20xe just a different colour. black to icv red to knock sensor. If they are the wrong way round it runs bad and ecu light is on .Hope this helps

Differnt on a smallblock, knock sensor is one or two wire.
