is it just case of taking off my steering wheel, then bolting this on in its place? if so, what about the horn? does the horn + and - connect to this steering wheel the same way? thanks
yes there will be 2 terminals on the back of the horn the same as a nova.
im not 100% if the coloum covers will fit on with the wheel thou.
Yes I have one, a straight swap mate

Aye, same wheel here - straight fit. Watch your legs though, its not a small wheel so rubs on my knees lol

How would you take that wheel of a car, does the horn bit come off same as a nova? Their is a wheel like that in my local scrappy and i might take it and put it on my car.
What size sockets will i need to get the wheel of donor car?
Edit. Is it smaller than the standard pov spec wheel?

good question, yeah so does the horn bit on the calibra wheel just pull out like a nova one?
The middle bit is just a rubbery covering, that will pull off easily - put your fingers round the back of each of the four spars in turn and ease the rubbery bit off from behind them. The horn push is a plastic disc in the middle, iirc it just pops off leaving access to the centre nut.
Can't remember exactly the size of the nut though, possibly something like 22mm? I'm sure Lee found it was the same size as the castle nut on the front hubs...
it is a 22mm im sure, is a rather large size.

It is a smaller wheel than the OE Vauxhall Nova stuff, infact its the smallest GM wheel I've ever used. I got rid because I prefer the larger GTE 16v one I have.

so can i just use the nova steering wheel nut when i put this steering wheel on?
Aye. Don't ask so many questions man. It really is as simple as it sounds! lol
Remove centre/pull out horn disc/unclip horn wires/Use 21/22mm socket and half drive ratchet/power bar with small extension. Loosen nut. Be sure to leave it on a few threads unless you want tw4tting in the face when the wheel frees itsellf!
If the wheel won't just lift straight off the colum try working your way aaround the circumference from behind with your fists/a hammer until it eventually submits.

Yes, Nova wheel off, Calibra wheel on. Do up the nut, bend over the safety tabs & reconnect the horn wires.
If you ask this many questions about swapping a steering wheel, Jeez you'll have a nightmare changing a dizzy cap! lol

and im asking quite a few questions because in my opinion, the steering wheel is a quite important part of the car, and i want to make sure that i'd be doing it right :p
