well after a verry joyfull drive home from work and a grin from ear to ear i parked the nova back in its space in my garage and thought to my self my car is verry clean and show worthy but ........
i am a picky tw@t and its jus not enough so as i am typeing this the engine is curently on a stand and not a suspension component or anything from the doors forward in sight.
as its all in a big box ready to go to the powder coaters :thumb:
all of this i want done before crimbo if poss because i do hate thing being long term and draging them out longer than they should so heres a short list of plans to be completed before christmass
1. powdercoat anything posible suspension wise or engine wise
2. gloss silver gearbox witch is being swaped for a f13.cr 5 speed instead of the f10 wr 5 speed due to a verry worn syncromess in second gear
3. repaint engine block and have my cambox and head painted gloss black to mach the rocker cover
4. polly bush the whole of the front and repaint the steering rack gloss silver and replace track rodends and ball joints
theres probably loads more i will do in the forth comeing weeks i havent mensiond but i will post pics up when i get chance and keep you guys posted on the progress ive always wanted to have a mag feature car so this is my self going the extra mile just so i can actualy achive my goal
watch this space
sound's good, i await pic's :)
hmm cant wait for pics of this.
Good luck mate, where are the pics?

ha ha just think that cv grease has probably kept thows pesky rust gremlins at bay lol lol
when i first bought my nova the engine bay wos minging and an inch thick in oil and grease so thanks to that most of the paint work and components were kept at bay :thumb:
i do hope you keep us posted on the progress of your gsi dude looking forward to seeing the pics

Cheers fella, Im hoping I have the free time available to turn the yellow one into a top car for next year etc. On another note........ I see your maybe chasing a lot of bling for the nova? From my experience Id go for subtle touches only as it always looks better than overkill etc. Id put the money towards an let instead as it would absolutely rock this car! ;)

i see your point there dude about to much bling etc but am i corect in thinking if i put a let in my nova it would be a good thing
i have had so many mixed views on this it is unreal but tbh i am gona keep it small block as it seems that there just is not enough on on the show scene any more but maybe after next years shows are out of the way i may do it jus to keep me busy next winter lol
or jus so i dont get slated to much i will go and do it to a base model shell cos i can never get away from the let bug lol
or jus so i dont get slated to much i will go and do it to a base model shell cos i can never get away from the let bug lol
Screw what everyone else thinks, your car, if you want a LET, LET it :thumb: You'd probably be much happier sticking it in a car like this than something you only spend 1/2 as much as time on because it's 'just a base model'. If everyone did what everyone else thought was right we'd end up with a sea of gsi kits and speedli..... oh wait lol
Hmmm, this car makes me moist.

You can fit a mk4 astra A/c fan on the front, it will cool the rad from 1/2 to 1/4 in about 10sec.... One of the best mods i found/did.

They were all going to get used on the SR but thats gone now, deciding what I want to do with the shell at the mo so keeping them for that in case I want to use them.
Anyway, hows the Spider coming onlol
Just out of interest, how would the genuine headlight washer wire in/fit into the bay or wherever its located and how does/would it operate?
There is a feed wire behind the firewall which is part of the heater motor loom, this is the trigger from the washer switch. The power is taken direct from the battery. There is also a trigger wire from the lights so the washers only work when they are on. They all go to a timer relay then to the high pressure water pump which is mounted in the bottle on the drivers inner wing(There is another type bottle that sits under the wheel arch for the GTE/GSi due to the airbox, there is a filler neck but not sure where it comes out).
Anyway, I think I spammed Bretskis thread enough, back to the Corsa GT!:thumb:

as you can see in this pic the shiney part at the center has been skimd back to 2mm to give me a friendlyer offset of et 40 rather than et38
and in the next pic you will see the iner lip has also been skimed 2mm so that it will not foul the front or rear shockers

http://i330.photobucket.com/albums/l418/novabrettski/evenmore009.jpg
all of these modifications have been done to the highest standard and will not weaken or decrease the load rate of the wheels so they are safe and not butcherd :thumb:

Looked great at pv fella........ One thing I feel may enhance it further would be a scuttle cover? Plenty of the euro guys have them as they look great whilst costing next to nothing. Rick's near your neck of the woods isnt he? I hear he's a dab hand at making them ;)
