right will my 1L drive shafts fit into the E16SE gearbox?

im guessing they do but want to know for defo

may sound stupid but need to know as im collecting bits for a conversion and want to know if i need to change them :)

i think they will chap, most small block shafts will fit i think :)

well ive been offered twin 40 webbers for £250 and you have to get a cam to follow dont you :)

well yeah, its rude not to :) i if you want proper grunt go for an ast8 but its touch and go as to run hydraulic lifters or not, thats a good deal on the 40s i paid £175 for mine 3 years ago but had to re build them and that in the end cost me over £300

everything else lines up fine too. remember to swap the complete gearbox & little shifter box that sits on top.. i spent ages trying to work out why i had a f13cr 4 speed box & not a 5 speed. also the coil wire needs replacing, as it is a resistor designed to drop the coil voltage to 6v. chase it back to the ign sw & replace it with normal wire.

ok i think i remember reading somewhere about the coil wire before.

Where on the gearbox will it tell me what it is?

Ive heard this before but my Sr engine ran ok on my 1l loom and i didnt touch that wire??:confused:

if you kept the 1.0 loom, then it will work ok... but with a c16se, it won't.





look under the gearbox casing. there will be a code number stamped for the diff ratio
