As above.

1. What rpm should it idle at?

2. Mine idle's at 1600 ish, sound's too much

3. How do you alter it if it's too high?

Come on impress me with your knowledge. :thumb:

Should be about 1000rpm or 950 summat like that. Youi can't manually adjust it, other than bodging the throttle stop on the TB which is a no-no.

Liklihood is you have an air leak after the AFM or a dodgy ICV (idle control valve).

Run the engine & spray some brake/carb cleaner around the intake pipes, under the SFi box & the inlet manifold to head face. If any gets sucked in you will hear the engine note change - thats your leak.

Otherwise it could be all manner of other things, the 'search function' is your friend here. I dare say there is a wealth of old threads on Megwib about this topic aswell.

It was running tb's, all i know is the tb's were taken off and a powercap put in there place.

I'll have to investigate further. :thumb:

Did you buy the corsa gsi off colin then?!!!

Bastiddd, i wanted that! lol

My xe idles at about 900rpm when warm.
1600rpm is way too high, idle valve is probably stuck open.

Might sound silly but you may have the icv and knock sensor plugs around the wrong way. Had same idle problem on mine
