On a friends newer shaped (04 reg) Micra, you have to turn the ignition key really sharply or the car wont start? Ignition lights all come on fine and it fires up straight away.

Any ideas why this could be?
Cheers

What do you mean, like you put the key in and have to turn it fast straight to the starter?
if you was to leave it on the ign it wouldnt start? Does it crank over or not?

no sorry didn't really explain properly. You can turn the key and leave ignition on, but then you have to turn the key fast on the cranking stage. If you turn the key slowly, it wont do anything.

could be a dodgey ignition barrel, i know fiats are like that anyway if you turn the key a tad too far to just turn the ignition on it wont let the key move onto the cranking position, its a real annoyance sometimes
