Towing - The Rules

Right I've read on this and another forum that you can't use a dolly/A-Frame to tow a car without tax/insurance/M.O.T etc, but I've spent half an hour looking for the relevant legislation but can't find diddly squat, can anyone point me in the right direction/post a link??

Have you tried ringing the dvla?

You wait hours to get through and talk to a real person who doesn't really have a clue, you end up getting past around like a dildo at an Ann Summers party only to be told 3 different things, their useless!
