right i thought i would make a new project thread as the last one was for the rotten Hreg shell that i striped because it was rotten.

so the story goes after i had the rotten H reg nova i bought a j reg rolling shell

i think the offset is wrong but thay dont catch at all. im not realy keen on the wheels i would much prefer some cav slabs or somthing.
the only plan is to tidy it up abit then hopfully get the arch done along with a respray but cash is tight at the minute.

there only staying for now while its off the road as the other set wouldnt stay up unles i was to put tubes in them.

now then its been a while since an update but ive changed the wheels to some astra six spokes ive changed the head gasket but now got running problems but thats soon to be sorted.

plans are just get it re MOT'd then make it as clean as possible iv bought an arch repair panel off egay £25 posted i didnt think that was bad so im gonna have that fitted then im gonna have both sides painted.
oh and i need to get some lowering springs for the rear.

i know my missus goes mad at me for buying wheels lmao as for the panels ive got my arch repair panel now i could do with a drivers front wing as that one is painted bad and doesnt fit right then it will just want both sides painting.
i also need a rad as the one on it leaks a little bit.

well just to let you know she is now running mint i had it out (on a private road before anyone starts) and its pretty quick it made me smile lol. im gonna buy some paint this week and paint the front bumper, door handles grab handle and the filler cap then il get some pics up :D

well heres a small useless update
got the car over the pit the other day to check it for mot

its gonna fail on:-

small leak on exhaust -going to put abit of weld on there.
middle exhast rubbers - got just need to fit.
both outer c.v boots - got to buy.
horn not working - need to take the wheel off and sort the brass bit out
high beam not working - not got a clue how to sort this??????
maybe a wishbone ball joint as the rubber is split.

other than that little lot i dont know so il do them jobs over the next week and get it in for test then go from there.

Rite this is now changing direction instead of finishing the e16se off in gonna pull it out and im on the look out for a 1200/1300 8v carb engine to put back in.
Then im gonna mot it then use it for abit as im sick of having it sat around.

Update only a teeny tiny one ive sourced an sr gearbox for this hope fully sort out an engine soon or if no one buys the astra estate il have the engine out of that for the nova :D ide need to find a flywheel tho

well the engine is now in and just wants the coolant hoses sorting out but i tryed cranking it over and at first the starter clicked then nothing the only thing i can think of is theres a thick black wire on the astra loom which is near the black+red trace wire but cant find anywere for it to go anyone got any ideas?

i dont know i havnt driven it yet as i still need to fit the shafts, source a clutch and fit it, fill box with gearbox oil and finish my exhaust ive just been busy with other stuff. oh and its not 13sb its just 13s:confused: .thanks for your comments people.

just thought i would update this as i havent for a while.
i havnt done anythin to the car but ive ben buying bits.
ive bought a gear linkage and speedo cable of colin smith thay got here a few days ago.
ive bought some head light clips off ebay £2 deliverd lol
ive got a set of rear lowering springs on there way from moffat.
just need to sort a clutch.
oh i nearly forgot the best bit ive also bought a full red sri interior off l33 leg im picking that up in the morning so hopefully (weather permiting) i should have a productive weekend.
Then the next stage after ive put all them bits on/in sourced and fitted a clutch and got 2 tyres.
it will be going for mot then once ive tested it, it will be new year and il be starting the prep for painting her its only going red again but im gonna do it in base coat and lacqure (sp) to stop the paint faiding again.
and thats all for today il upload more tomorow or sunday :)

hi all ive had problems since last update as my dad tryed starting it whilst it was frozen and tore the teath off the cam belt.
i fitted a new belt and cleaned the plugs and it was running but was poping and banging etc anyway after a thread on here it was thought that it was eather timong out or bent valves so went today and had a check of the timing and it was bob on so i minted the plugs cleaned the dizzy etc put it all back together and it runs sweet but with quite bad smoke dunno what this is? but its better than last time.
anyway ive got the interiour just about how i wanted it bar a couple of subtle ice mods.
what would you all say for exterior styling its going into work after the new years out the way to be painted i want somthing a little different from the usual gsi bumpers skirts and speedlines so i was thinking of keeping the standard bumpers but colour-coding them then i had the thought of fully smoothing them but when i saw a smoothed std front bumper i didnt really like it, so come on what subtle mods do you all think i should do when its in for paint.

well its not as if anyone cares but today i went and did abit on the old girl ive now finaly fitted the drive shafts and the gear linkage i got off colin smith im now running out of parts so i serpose its nearly ready for the road :D

yep the speedlines are back off as thay need tyres and i want to refurb them at work soon so ive put the steeles on as thay've got good tread
its not far off going for test now i need to fit my clutch and sorce a sr middle section then take it to work fit the arch repair panel ive had for over a year then have a right good look over it and stone chip all underneath ready for mot.

whoop whoop ive receved my clutch bolts, new clutch and springs so with abit of look she'l be driving this week.
oh and not to forget ive sorted my exhaust altho it wants a slight bit of adjustment.

and ive now got some gte seats which are tatty but ive got the frames i needed to finish my interior i just need the bit the seatbelt clips into and the bolts and washers.
im hoping to get some work done on it tomorow and that should consist of both my red sri seats in.
the lowering springs in at the back.
amp wiring kit in then il clear the boot ready for my jbl sub and amp then all i need is a stereo for when its on the road.
oh and ive also sorted my insurance for it so itll be insured from the 20th :D

its getting duck tape on it for mot then the cars going in to my work for the arch to be done once the arch is done il be taking the car to work each weekend to do abit each week then once all the repairs are done il give it a flick of flame red but in base coat and laquer so it doesnt fade again :D

yeah the body work has been doing my nut in for ages but it wont be painted till near summer lol but itll be worth the wait

and i dont quite know what it is i think its like a budda thing or somthin lmao its my dads garden i just keep my car there and put fence's up when thay blow down lmao

That looks a million times better! Very impressed. Which panels need attention or is it still in need of a full respray? Get the bumper and bonnet sorted and fit some wheels and it will finally look the part.

Where have your speedlines gone by the way? Did you sell them?

cheers for the comment lee realisticly it wants a full flick as theres little bits wrong with each panel but im gonna finish buffing and sort the rotten arch and bonet paint the bumpers, door handels, boot grab handle and filler cap satin black.
as for the wheels there at work in primer and i put the steelies on as thayve got legal tread but i think i might stick my astra sport wheels back on it for the time being

yeah il eventyally paint the full thing as theres little bits of damage all over the car like.
n/s:- the rear quarter is rotten so thatl want painting once ive had it welded.
the door has a couple of scabs on the edge and nearly a hole on the bottom inside.
the wing is pritty good.
i think the bonnet has a couple of little dints on it and plus its half white
the roofs mint apart from 1 scratch i think
the tailgate is good apart from 1 dint at the top and a 5p size bit were someones rubbed it with 80 grit.
O/S:- wing has micro blisters all over it and its painted in smellyournose.
the doors got a couple of scabs on the bottom but no holes
and the quarter has some real deep scratches like barbed wire scratches.
oh and theres a dent in the sill.
also both sills are scabby but solid.
so/\ thats why its getting a full flick
and yes i think thats how its going to end up as an sri rep actually i wouldnt mind a sri engine for it im sick of carb'd crap lol

ive not updated this in ages and thats mostly todo with me going backwards with it,
first off i pulled the engine out and sold it then i wanted rid but couldnt bare actually getting rid.
so now after much persuasion im gonna get it done ive now orderd sills for it and ive got a rear arch panel to weld in altho i can get a full quarter for £105+vat so i think im gonna get thatand have it right.
so im just waiting for some parts to come and im waiting for somthings to be move form my lock up and il be moving it there and getting cracking and doing it properly this time. :-D
