Rear Disc set up, what handbrake cables?

Hi, I have my rear discs set up not and ready to fit. What hand brake cables should I use with the Conversion? Cav SRi Hubs by the way.

Seems to be a weird one. I have searched to find an answer.I have an Astra GTE setup for mine. Seems some use mk2 Cav estate short cables and Nova long cables. But others do it differently.

The best setup I saw was with mk3 astra cables that have a sheath that fits into tabs welded onto the beam, with a custom balance bar where it meets the handbrake itself.

MMmmm, is there anyone that has used OEM items or Donor vehicle items? Surely theres more than 3 of us with Rear Discs?

My mate rich used Nova cables somehow pm The_General_Chancer on here as it was him mate.

its a MK2 Astra set on the back on mine with modified nova cables.

i used passat rear cable and joined them to the original nova one on the beam. but not 100% every MOTer would like it? but its got hydrolic handbrake so always feels tight and as long as the cables are there and doing something its ok? i've been told theres a bloke down kidderminster that will make them so that they will fit like standard. but never been able to find his number?

i used an astra gte set up on mine but other paople use the nova lon cable and a mk2 cav short one

Std Nova long cable & a mk2 Cav (hatch) short cable.

I came to that conclusion by fitting the Nova cable & measuring the approximate length for the short side. I then looked in a book of handbrake cables at my local factors & picked the mk2 Cav cable because of its length which was given in the book. BINGO, it all fitted 1st time.

I had a cav short handbrake on mine with nova long (nova cable to the passenger side wheel) but the threaded bar was a bit too short so had to extend it with another bit of threaded bar.

Benn on here has since told me the the bar on the cav estate cable is a bit longer so doesnt need modifying but havent tried this myself

Yep mk2 cav estate short bit, the threaded bar is longer than the others so fits.
But it depends how you've made the beam. On what guilds and taps are left.
