Parked the car round the corner and he went ape.

move the clocks around, mine did it all the time, short in the dash wiring if you need to stop it just pull the choke out if it aint auto choke

As said, I'd check the barrel.

Failing that, check there's no bare wires that are shorting.

When you turn the key off, is the ignition going off?

If its a 1.0 car, converted to a 1.2, then the igniton wire is a resistance wire, i.e if it doesnt see voltage, it turns the coil on, a gay way, i know!

its not a 1.0 conveted !
someone told me it could be where the car is igniting the feul under compression like a diesil only its nt ??like the timing could be off but i dout that as the car doesnt sound retarded

Mine does this all the time, condensor on the ignition is prbably foobared:)

Is the dash still lit?

As if it putting 12v at the coil, it may be from the alternator, if its left, does it go flat?

naw doesn go flat when i turn it off the dash goes off ..
