my cousin has a cavalier gsi in black original down to the wheels, air box etc has a coscast head on too.
also has a folder with reciepts for parts, labour(work done on the car) totaling around the £2600 mark, also has a very good history with the car(not complete,id say 90% after a quick flip through just.)current milage is 138k!
has some very minor rust scabs on the top of the back window and and since he has bought it has had some minor welding done too.
it is very similer to this

OR do i keep my nova gte which too is pretty much original, although requires work to the battery tray and the boot floor(2"sqaure of rust behind the back of the drives side rear light.
ive also recently bought two gm front wings a door(will need spraying and putting on the car) and a new spax rsx coily kit for it
the car has 82k on the clock and although i cant confirm due to no history,im happy it is correct due to having a lady owner for 8 year's before i got my hands on it.
as it stands

in its former glory(minus the front wing, have no other pics)

my cousin wants (why its me:) ) £700 for the cav for a quick sale due to him buying another car

so do i sell the nova(or break it)plus the bit and bobs ive accumalated for it,and try to get the best part of £700 or do i keep the nova and continue slowly build her back up???

have wanted a cavalier gsi for a long time(especialy one in good nic).
but the nova has served me well is will be pretty clean once its finnished:confused:

Get the GSi you big girl you clearly want it, the boot is big enough to carry cead bodies in (should you need to) theyre big and comfy and shift pretty well, and if you bin it at any point you can find a 1ltr nova and a shoe horn:thumb:

Cavvy GSi all day long.
Probably one of the last n/a great saloons that isnt too heavy. Nissan Primera 2.0 eGT being of a similar pace & power, but a bit later.

I had one briefly. Probably the best car I have had, his price is keen but they are rocking horse dung now, so thats the price you pay for exclusivity I guess.

It's far more of a car than that Nova GTE could ever be without a C20LET. The welding shouldnt put you off, nor the mileage tbh.

hmmmm all answer's so far have been for the cav but the poll shows more for the nova!

do i strip the nova or sell it on with a mot ticket?
what be your own way of going about it?

im thinking 400-500 for the nova(with a new mot ticket), 300 for the new rsx spax coily kit i have for it
that would be my 700 needed for the cav then i have other stuff like gm nova wings in totaly mint, mk1 bonnets mint, doors 3 off and other bits and bobs such as lights freshly blasted alloy wheels roof gutter rails etc i could sell to give the cav a timing belt and new headgasket(just to be sure).
or ask for my highest price for the nova and throw all my bits in with it?

just to be sure of what? I wouldnt split the head unless it had failed HG.
The Nova should sell better with an MOT as people can drive it away then.

As an unbiased opinion, the only thing a Nova has going for it is the fact it looks better parked up stationary, even then it needs to be mega clean & slammed on some tasty wheels. The cav is a far better drive, much more civilsed, a decent cruiser, nearly as fast, rarer than a Nova so cooler. I bet if you parked that Cav on a show stand it would get many more looks than your Nova.

Btw the Cav was pishing the Nova in the poll when I voted.

cheers craig there the kind of comments i need to sure up,i will be going around our marks when i get home from work tommorow,to discuss how im going to go about making the money up(as in selling what i have first)(i just hope he will now keep hold of the car for me).
and if agree's then it will be the end of nova ownership!

i hate selling/giving up what i have, even though at times it can be worthless, this is the way i am i suppose.

Why do people always use the term 'mint' to describe nova stuff?

Mints have holes you know......

Buy the cav and break the nova as it's what you must want to do or you wouldn't give us options.

Or keep the nova as a second project and get it fixed properly as its one of the better colours on a nova.
