Evening,

My car is 2db over the 100db limit :(

I have another system, but it's going to involve alot of work to fit. Would prob go for a new manifold and ashley tyre exhaust.

For the time being... Does anyone know where i can get hold of a noise reducung muffler?

All I can find is a Merlin one, but it's £46 plus postage :(

Ta,

Chris

Hadn't looked on deamon thieves, they frustrate me...

and there wasn't alot on rally design.

I know it goes in side the rear box... But how does it mount/where does it sit?

Cant you just get a bigger box put in the system - or even another one in line fitted?

Better long term fix and wont cost much more.

I could, but longterm I'll buy a 2 1/4" syatem and manifold or... fit my 2" magnex system and mate it to a standard xe manifold.

Prob is either way its alot of money or alot of time and effort, which I don't have either of once I buy a track day :(

The problem I have is, my exhaust system is a one piece welded piece of poo!! And you couldn't simpley fit another box inline or at the end. I never made it, but I'm too embaressed to post pics lol

a friend of mine had this problem and failed scrutaneering, solution was to weld a thin bar in the middle of the tail pipe from one side to the over and about inch and a half from the end, which then splits the air as it leaves the exhaust. his db went down from 103 to 96 ;) and doesn't affect performance.

here you go. all thats been added is the bar in the middle. to pass scrutaneering exhaust has to be fixed part. so you cant put something in loose it has to be welded etc so fixed. so you can't stick wire wool up it ;) hope this helps http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/ss177/sr-rally/benphone294.jpg
