Help !!! Fog Lights.

Ok my fog lights dont work and i thort it may have been the fuse so i took off my cover to go fit a new one, when i went to go put the new one in there wasnt a catch for it, ( there was the hole but not the bit that holds it into position ) so does anyone know anything i can do to fix it? :tard::wtf:

Are you meaning front fogs and is it a nova?


If its the rears then youre clearly looking at the wrong fuse bud!

Fuse 14 in a Mk2, Fuse 13 in a Mk1 according to Haynes. It's the same one for the rear tail lights.

This isnt my actual fuse box, but this is the bit i mean, see in the picture below, theres ment to be the metal holders that hold the fuse,, where my fog lites are ment to be there isnt a metal holder to hold the fuse "/

right, we need to know the following...

1. is it a nova?
2. is it front or rear fogs?
3. if front ones, are they factory fit?

then we can give you some answers.

basically, i think you have looked at the hole where a factory fit front fog light will go, and your car doesn't have that option, so it doesn't have the wiring.. but give us the facts & we'll sort it out for you

2. yes its front.
3. correct, factory fitted.

there is a grey/green wire from the main light switch with a 20a fuse. this supplies the switching power. then the power to the lamps comes via fuse 12, which is also a 20a.
