Im after a lead for my internerd modem, its needs to have USB connection one end an a traditional telephone cable style connection at the other.

Does such a thing exist?

Dan means you would connect the modem via one USB cable to the computer, then the modem to the phone jack via a phone lead.

i.e. Computer > USB cable > Modem > Phone lead > Phone jack

I suspect you're trying to plug into the wrong socket on the modem side...
