I'm sending my V5 away to advise the car is now a xe, can I just put the new cc in as 1998 and they'll return the new V5 and I can go tax, or do I need the engine number too? If so where abouts is it on the block?:thumb:

As you look at the engine from the front of the car, the eng number is on the top right hand side of the block, if i rember it may be covered up by the head. you will proberly have to get some sand paper on it to clear the rust to see the number.

nah - its not there...
It runs adjacent to where the box joins the block - its not the easiest to see with teh engine in the car!

Cheers - I'll just try and post the V5 with the cc change and hope they send the new one back!

You need to write the engine number on the V5 where it asks

Do you know which area? Front, Top, back or even the bottom of the engine?

no its on the flat edge, lots have no numbers due to the amount that got stolen in the 90's!

Just take the format of the engine number you already have and make one up!
