ive had mk1s an mk2s never thought there was a difference

altho it is agree'd each shell has slight differences on the rear arches, give or take a few mm when you come to fitting wheels, other thn that i think theyre the same...

the diffrence is where the rear bumper mounts,if fitting mk1's on a mk2 remember to weld up the holes for mk1 bumper bracket

What i was just about to say^

The archs are slighty wider it seems, but not enough to matter.
I know that my wheels clear fine on my mk2 but rub on my mates mk1.
