Dya think you can paint a bonnet before you get some really big problems? ? ?

We have a hyundia 4x4 thing which went for its mot some nobber shunted the rear end and pushed it into another car, so its had front/rear bumpers/ bootlid bonnet and some other bits.

I've painted the bumpers and just painted the splats... Another lad painted the bonnet...

First time he painted it it dropped so badly as he used an incorrect thinner in the clear coat

Second time he painted it it got covered in silicons *fisheyes* peppered...

third time he painted it got a reaction on the front of the bonnet and also fisheyes again.

Oh the funn.... so guess who has to now paint it pmsl.

Im guessing it will have around a 500micron build now lol, which is way in excess of the limits lol, i think i might shead a tear before the day is done.

Why not take it back to bare metal or the factory primer? I can understand the work needed to do so but it would come out better?

You're gonna have to drop the thing down on the hinges so it lines up lol

Why wasnt it just all ppainted at once? surely easier using same batch of paint, same painter etc for it all to tie in better once finished!
