was driving home from a mates house today when the brake padal went all squidgy

i drove home carefully and parked up

when i got out the front dirvers wheel was roasting and the disk smelt of burning

passenger side was ok

so im assuming its a sticky caliper

the brake fluid level is low (ive got a small leak in on of the rear cylinders) and im thinking its prolly boiled the fluid causing the squidgy-ness

just gonna drive to halfords and snag some BF and top up the tank - but i need to know how to fix the sticking bit

Strip down Caliper and wirebrush any crap in it. Make sure the 'swinging' mechanism is working.

It's likely that the inside pad has been pulled on, but not been released again.

the sliders dont usually give problems on the ate calipers like the gm ones do

you will probably find its the piston which is stuck. strip it down and rebuild it , if theres rust inside then thats the problem - just rub it down with wet/dry. if the piston is corroded then your fecked and need a new caliper or a ford piston fits ;)
